Barco has announced the release of its new G50 Series projectors, the smallest and lightest installation projectors the brand has ever offered.
A recent Projector Central InfoComm Best of Show Award winner, the line features three models to start, the G50-W8, G50-W7, and G50-W6. All are single-chip DLP, WUXGA (1920x1200) at 8,900, 7,400, and 6,400 ISO lumens respectively. They feature a laser-phosphor light engine rated for 20,000 hours.
With a shared chassis and weight of 7.13 x 19.13 x 14.80 inches (HxWxD) and 30.9 pounds, they're targeted at higher education, conference rooms, museums, house-of-worship, and theme parks, and intended to provide a more affordable and easily installed Barco solution for these venues. Along with the smaller and lighter form factor, the projectors enjoy a claimed industry-leading energy efficiency of up to 18 Lm/W, said to be the most cost-effective lumen per watt ratio available. Installation flexibility is supported by a half dozen lenses with throws ranging from 5.5:1 to a UST zoom at 0.37-0.4:1.
The G50 Series further expands Barco's successful G line-up, including the G100 and G60/62 models, for which the company recently announced the shipping of its 10,000th unit.
The G50-W8, G50-W7, and G50-W6 are available in either a black or white cabinet.
