Christie has begun shipping two new models in its reimagined M series of 4K, 3DLP laser projectors in the M 4K15 RGB and M 4K+15 RGB. Like the 25,300 ISO-lumen M 4K25M RGB and M 4K+25 RGB first shipped in 2022, the M 4K 15 RGB projectors use discrete RGB laser technology, in this case delivering 15,750 ISO/14,000 ANSI lumens. Gamut is rated at up to 98% of the wide Rec.2020 color space which, along with the projectors' rated contrast ratio of 2,700:1 or 6,000:1 On/Off when mated with Christie's Ultra High Contrast lenses, makes them desirable for entertainment and other situations where image quality is a top priority. A compact and lightweight chassis for their class makes them especially well-suited for rental/staging, museums, theme parks, and projection mapping applications.

First shown at this year's June InfoComm show with the promise of a summer delivery, the M 4K15 RGB and M 4K+15 RGB respectively on rely a trio of DLP chips with native resolution of 1920x1080 (full HD) or 1920x1200 (WUXGA), to which Christie applies pixel-shifting to achieve 3840x2160 UHD or 3840x2400 UHD+ resolution on screen. For high frame rate applications, optional Mirage and Mirage Pro upgrades can deliver 4K at 120 Hz or HD at up to 480 Hz. The projector can optionally do 3D at 60 Hz per eye.

Measuring in at 20.7 x 10.6 x 24.3 inches (WHD) and weighing just 83.8 pounds, the M 4K15 and M 4K+15 are said to be the lightest 3DLP projectors in their class, and offer a wide range of installation features for virtually any setting. They deliver full brightness with 120 volts (and can be operated at 240 volts), enjoy 360-degree omnidirectional orientation, and offer the TruLife+ electronics package and well-equipped connection panel found on the M 25 models that eliminates the need for optional plug-in cards by offering the most commonly demanded ports. These include HDMI 2.0, 12G-SDI, DisplayPort 1.2, HDBaseT, fiber via Christie's Link Transmitter, and 3D sync connections.

The new projectors are also compatible with legacy M, J, and Crimson Series lenses, and M Series rigging frames. Christie Twist software is offered as a free download to assist with manual warping and blending for basic multi-projector installations, as is Mystique Lite software that can be combined with an off-the-shelf camera for automated warping/blending. Premium versions of Twist and Mystique are also available for more demanding installations. Free Christie Conductor software can be used for fleet management of up to 256 projectors.

The sealed laser engine in the M 4K15 RGB and M 4K+15 RGB is field-serviceable and replaceable as needed, and is rated for 25,000 hours to 50% brightness when used at full brightness. This extends to a rated 50,000 hours if the projector is operated at 60% brightness. Christie's LiteLOC feature can be engaged to automatically manage brightness over time for consistent image quality over the life of the projector.

Both the M 4K15 RGB and M 4K+15 RGB are available for order now.
