Mark Henninger
Location PhiladelphiaMark Henninger is an AV enthusiast, equipment reviewer, as well as professional photographer and videographer. He created the editorial review program at AVS Forum, where he served as Senior Editor and then Editor. Mark is a THX-trained video calibrator and has extensive experience working with consumer displays. He is also the founder of the Imagic Digital, a company that provides professional architectural photography services, and Mark created the Facebook group Audiophiles on a Budget.
Accurate video displays and the cinematic potential of projection are among Mark’s obsessions. He has used a projector as his primary display at home for over two decades. His early childhood was spent in Athens, Greece living on a block that had both an indoor movie theater and an outdoor theater. In high school, back in the late 1980s, he worked at the Avon Cinema in Providence, RI, changing aspect ratios on the screen by pulling chains, lugging the films up to the projection booth, making the popcorn, updating the marquee, collecting the tickets, and making sure the projectionist stayed awake to change the reels. The movie theater experience is in his blood.
These days, in addition to watching movies and playing video games, Mark enjoys flying drones and riding his OneWheel while capturing high resolution video (plus still photos) that are best appreciated when viewed in the grand scale that projection offers.
