I put in a 4.5 star for the simple reason that nothing is perfect, but having said that, the HD28HDR is a remarkable projector. First of all, its 1080p at 120hz is phenomenal, a smooth picture and with the right calibration the picture looks good. Both HDR has to be taken into consideration. It gives an excellent rendering whether in games or movies. I am truly amazed at the picture quality. Small negative point, during a 4k content the projector can take a long second to display in HDR. Negative: Display delay in 4k too long Image adjustment only in horizontal trapeze positive: HDR simply amazing 8.2ms input lag at 1080p A remarkable luminosity A stunning 3d Excellent quality / price ratio

It is bright and has a lot of features for the money. 3D is awesome, although the auto detect picks the wrong 3D media type frequently. If what I believe are software issues could be fixed this would be a great entry level projector. I love that the 4K input means plex isn't transcoding my 4K HDR HEVC media even though it only projects 1080p.

Any Problems: 1. If using HDMI-CEC, when the projector turns on it will default to HDMI 1.. which is the port that doesn't support HDR 4K 60hz. Have to manually switch to HDMI 2 each time. This makes using a single Roku/Shield remote impossible. 2. Projector is extremely slow at switching signal from 4K to 4K HDR. When movies start and it receives a 4K HDR signal, it sits at a black screen that says "searching" for ~20 seconds. During this time, the app/player (Roku/Shield Pro/Xbox) thinks there is an issue and stop playback or drop the HDR which washes out movies. This is intermittent, sometimes it reacts quick enough that movies play as expected, but about 50% of the time it fails. 3. It is very loud. This is louder than my HD26 and the fans quick up much more frequently. 4. Rainbow effect is considerable on this model. Guests almost notice on their own and ask. 5. Customer service is non-existent. Tickets for issues 1/2 above are sitting at 30 and 10 days old. I also attempted phone contact and waited 20 minutes before switching to callback method.. no call back.
